Happy Thanksgiving from the Malmberg apartment.

Our apartment needed a little thankful spirit, so I searched for ideas on Pintrest. It had to be easy, involving zero sewing abilities. I found a yarn wreath and ran with it.

The supplies for the wreath are available at any craft store.

All you need for this wreath is a round, wreath shaped item. Mine is crafted around a Styrofoam circle, but you could use another foam, pipe or even a pool noodle if you want. Then, I picked up some yarn at Michaels in fall colors, based on purple, of course. To adorn your wreath, you can use flowers, wood/cardboard letters, felt creations or in my case stickers and a homemade sign.

Next you tie the yarn around the wreath and start the long wrapping process. You can just go crazy and do a messy wrap, but because I want to use my over, I neatly wrapped it. I watched Cole play his Assassins game while I wrapped and wrapped and wrapped. It's pretty mindless work. When you get to the you can tie it off. I struggled with my knot, but it's important to remember that if you keep it on the back and cover it later, no one can tell how you finished. If you can't get it to stay with just knots, feel free to use glue or some other adhesive. I had luck with just the knots though. Check out this tutorial for more information on yarn wreath making.

After tons of searching at the store, Cole came across these cute, felt owl stickers. They had an easy peel off back, making it easy to attach to my homemade sign.

Next, get creative. Like I mentioned before, you can decorate your wreath however you want. I took my orange yarn and looped in around at intervals followed by tying a homemade "Happy Thanksgiving" sign to the front. Finish the wreath off by typing a loop of yarn around the top for hooking purposes.

Lastly, hang it up. We have a Command hook for that.

This wreath was easy, and because I didn't use any glue, I can just peel off the decorative pieces and transform it into other holiday wreaths. Purple goes with every holiday right?
