Photo Friday: Stinky Bug, Happy Craft

Posted by Brenna Malmberg

A stink bug inside Cole's car.

Say hello to my new non-friend. It's a stink bug. The only good news about this buggy enemy is that he won't hurt me. He will just stink if I smash him. Turns out, a few years ago, they invaded the area. I don't think that is the case this year, but I still dislike them.

The other day, we took Cole's car to the store. When I opened the door, some flew at me. Then I sat down in the seat, shut the door and screamed because more fell on me. Their clingy legs and ability to soar off freaks me out. So, after Cole swiped a bunch away, we drove off. But, now I keep finding them in the house. Because I don't really deal well with them, I trap them in a cup until Cole can come save me. So if you are to visit, you might find a cup sitting upside down on the floor for some unknown reason. Well, now you know. . . .

Constitution Day Celebration 2012

Posted by Brenna Malmberg

For Constitution Day, guests enjoy live music and hot air balloon rides on the lawn.

In honor of Constitution Day, Cole and I drove up to Orange, Va., to a celebration at James Madison home, Montpelier. Outside of town, down some twisty, unmarked roads, we found the estate surrounded by acres (more than 2,700) of lush open space.

First, watch and smile.

This week, I found some new beats, brought to the world thanks to an after-school program in Minneapolis. The Y.N.RichKids rap about childhood subjects and have recorded eight albums since the group started in 2006. . . .
