San Francisco Cable Car

Just cruising through the streets.

As I prepare to go back into the big city tonight for a Giants' game, I look back at our week in San Francisco. I saw the sights; Cole learned, read and did court stuff. Let's just say my week passed much more enjoyably. I got a little glimpse of the sights before we go see them with my family in a week. . . .

San Mateo County Fair 2014

How all county fairs should start: a snow cone.

Coming from small-town Kansas, county fairs are a big deal. Behind the rodeo, it's probably the biggest event (to be fair, those two overlap). So, when the San Mateo County Fair rolled into our backyard, I had to go. . . .

Weekend in Kansas

Kansas City skyline

Landed in Kansas City for a weekend of adventures, shopping and wedding fun.

This past weekend, I hopped in a taxi and headed to the San Francisco airport, all in prep of my Kansas weekend adventures. My awesome Mom chauffeured me around, and while we were at it, we hit up the Kansas City sights.

Hallmark building . . .

So Many Places, So Little Time

Overblessified Thursday logo

Since our first two weekends of hike, things have been a little crazy. Even while I am typing this, my bags are packed in the other room. As you can imagine, I have lots of photos and stories from the past few weeks, but they will have to wait until next week for posting.

Here's a run down of everything that is to come on the blog:

  • Calligraphy: So much practice and cards. These include a present and my new white ink, which is lovely. A few test runs even went in the mail yesterday.
  • California Academy of Sciences: We spent hours in line to visit for free and saw fish, skulls, penguins and a growing roof.
  • Palo Alto Shakes: Cute place with delicious shakes and way too much food to stomach.
  • Law firm party: I got to meet some of the people Cole works with every day — putting faces with names.
  • Movie venture: A Million Ways to Die in the West was playing down the road in Redwood City.
  • My birthday: When you turn 25, you celebrate with Chipotle, pool time, trampolines and Yumi Yogurt.
  • Hiking: Yes, more hiking. It was a shorter one through the woods and a little waterfall.
  • San Fran: Cole was booked up in San Fran for work, so I tagged along. I saw some local sights, including Pier 39, Cable Car Museum and Chinatown.
  • Kansas: And today, I am off to Kansas to hang out with my mom and celebrate a bride-to-be.

Like I said, I haven't had time to blog much because I am always on the go. But fear not, eventually I'll post some adventures. I have at least uploaded the photos, so that is a start. Right? . . .

California Knows How to Party Design

Calendar June Design

Bringing a little Cali to my desktop organization.

It's a new month, which means a new desktop design for me. It joins the calendar bunch as the 11th desktop creation. (If you missed the May blog "Tech Wallpaper Keeps Me Organized," it tells you more about the reasons by my design.) . . .
