Sweeney Ridge Hiking Trail

A graffiti face peers out from a small building that marks the first half mile.

For our first weekend in California, we took in some nature on the Sweeney Ridge hiking trail. Cole decided on this fairly easy hike, because: 1. My hiking legs can only take so much. 2. An old Nike missile control facility awaited exploration at the top.

The day ended with a cruise into the city to see the Golden Gate Bridge. I'll have more city pictures after this weekend. I've been promised a, urban sightseeing adventures, which includes a free day at the California Academy of Sciences.

The ceiling has caved in, and the entire building might only be held up by graffiti.

Sweeney Ridge Hiking Trail

Cole picked this particular trail because of the old Cold War infrastructure.

Phrase seemed appropriate.

This trail was a breeze compared with the Yosemite hike we took the following week.
