Photo Friday: Valentine Crafts

Happy Valentine's Day from brennamedia
I couldn't help myself. I created fun Valentine's Day cards and crafts. I set to work picking punny card ideas from Pinterest. Beware, if you start searching, you will never reach the end of all the puns. I decided on soda and pizza, two of my favorites.
After I did some Illustrator work, I printed them, wrote little notes and sent them out in the mail. But, not only did I send Valentines from Charlottesville, I also sent them from Valentine, Neb. How you ask? By sending them to the postmaster at that location. I didn't know about this, but apparently, it's a fun little USPS tradition. All you have to do is put your item inside a larger item and send it to the postmaster at your desired location.
You can find all the different lovey locations on the USPS blog, and if you don't feel so romantic, you can send them to less heartfelt towns, such as Broken Arrow, Okla.
My special postmarks arrived at their destinations in time for Valentine's Day — well, all but one. I send one to Julliette, Ga., and it hasn't showed up. If I had to guess, it's somewhere between here and there trapped in all this East Coast snow. I have faith it will arrive.
To get a Valentine, Neb., postmark, I had to send my Valetines to the postmaster out there.
Before all the cards, I worked on home decor crafts. Thankfully, Pinterest always had starter ideas. I harkened back to my old origami days and learned how to make 3D paper hearts. You can watch this video and follow the steps to perfect paper hearts. This other blog post gave me the idea to string them together. I really like how it turned out, other than the fact that I should have painted the living room hearts red so they popped out against out white walls.
I learned how to fold origami hearts.
Then, I strung them all together for our living room wall.
I used that same origami idea on our door wreath. It's definitely one of my favorites. You can check out my other crafts and ones I like by following my Pinterest boards. I'd love an invite to follow you as well, so let me know if you have a pins! Happy Valentine's Day from our home to yours. I hope you have a great day and know you are loved.
Like usual, I decorated our door with a festive wreath.
