Tech Wallpaper Keeps Me Organized
Posted by Brenna Malmberg
It's a new month, which means a new background image for my computer.
Each month, I redesign my tech wallpaper, creating custom images that keep me organized. As you see above, I dedicate chunks of my screen to certain tasks: folders, files, PDFs, in progress, pretties and calendar. My desktop icons automatically snap to a grid, so all I have to do is drag and drop documents to their assigned spot. It makes me organize myself so I don't end up with a desktop littered with icons.
I use this personalization opportunity to practice my graphic design skills. I mix and match fonts alongside illustrations, such as the law school, basketball jerseys and Flat Brenna.
Besides my desktop, I make wallpaper for my iPhone's home and lock screen. I like to keep my home screen clean and inspirational because I look at it so many times a day. Right now, every time I swipe my finger, it glides across Psalm 37:4. I leave the last three square spaces open so I can run a bible verse there; plus, I don't accidentally press apps when I scroll. My lock screen currently is my favorite. I made the moon design for my April desktop from a tutorial. I wish I could say I come up with beautiful graphics like that all on my own, but at least I can follow direction well. The moon lock screen brightly glows each time I press that round circle at the bottom. I absolutely love it. So glad I took the time to do the step-by-step design.
I've added Tech Wallpaper to my design tab. Check out August through May and a handful of phone screens. Visit every month to see my newest tech wallpaper.
My phone's background is simple yet personal.
I'm in love with my lock screen, so it will be around for a while.
