Trivia Tuesday: Fire Prevention Week

Posted by Brenna Malmberg

Welcome to another edition of Trivia Tuesday. Last week, Cole pulled out the win for fantasy football, which shouldn't have been a surprise because he was probably the only person who took it who had played before. Congrats, Cole!

Fire Prevention Week

Now on to this week. It's Fire Prevention Week, Oct. 6-12. To celebrate and educate, I bring you Fire Prevention Week trivia. Good luck and perhaps you will learn a thing or to about fire safety or at least brush up on your skills. I came up with this grand idea while doing a Lincoln newsletter for work, and I thought it was interesting. Plus, they have a cute dog mascot happening. They actually have their own quiz, more practical than trivial, if you are interested.

Good luck on this week, and don't forget to comment at the end on how you do.

1. What's the theme of this year's prevention week?
2. Fire Prevention Week started a long time ago in 1871 after what famous fire?
3. What president proclaimed the First National Fire Prevention Week?
4. In 2011, how many homes did firefighters visit because of home structure fires?
5. Out of every five homes fires, how many start in the kitchen?
6. What percentage of people said their first thought on hearing a smoke alarm is to get out?
7. How often should you test your smoke alarms?
8. December, January and what other month have greatest number of fires reported because of a home heating fire?
9. What's the leading cause of kitchen fires?
10. What's the name of the National Fire Protection Association dog?

How did you do? Comment below on how you did! Thanks.
