Worldly Wednesday: Flat Brenna Socializes in Iowa
Posted by Brenna Malmberg
Luckily, Flat Brenna is full of life and energy these days, because her real-life counterpart is a little under the weather. So, if my thoughts read a little jumbled, it's just the medicine talking. I haven't completely lost it. So like I was saying, Flat Brenna — full of energy — has been out socializing at Iowa State with my friend Jenny.
This fun-loving, pink friend and I met my freshman year of college thanks to Navigators. She lived down the road from me at that time in Ellsworth, which would someday become my KU home. So many bible studies, so many Nav nights and so many days of journalism together. I was always thankful I had a friend and believer trudging through many of those long reporter days. Oh reporting. But we survived and have goofy leads and stories to tell from that experience. I think we are both thankful to not be doing that anymore.
Now Jenny is with the Navigators at Iowa State, and I am glad I still get to be a part of her life and support the awesome work she is doing there. Lucky for me, Jenny sent me a whole bunch of Flat Brenna pictures so we can all see what she does in Iowa every day. So here are a few of the adventures, but there will be more. I can't let all the fun out of the bag at once!
Flat Brenna goes to bible study with the staff women. That's Jenny over on the right in the white holding Flat Brenna, note she has a pink water bottle.
Sophie and Jenny share their one-on-one time with a flat friend. Nice to meet you, Sophie.
Hanging out in Audrey's room in Larch Residence Hall. Flat Me feels pretty at home in a dorm room.
Audrey has a cool box that Flat Brenna got to play in!
Nav Night with Katie! Man, I kinda miss those things. Flat Brenna is so lucky.
And to host those wonderful things like Nav Night, it takes staff meetings. Flat Brenna now knows all the deets.
After all that, Jenny got a little down time to spend with Jesus — and Flat Brenna. Jenny also got a tasty peanut butter bagel and coffee. None for Flat Brenna though. She allergic to peanut butter and we all know Brenna doesn't like coffee.
Thanks for sharing Jenny, and I promise, I have a few more adventures with Jenny to share, but... this sick, tired person should probably go to bed so can function at a mostly normal rate tomorrow.
