Alive and Climbing Castle Rock
Posted by Brenna Malmberg
Oh hey. Remember me? It's been a while since I lasted posted, and there's a story there. But, in short, I was busy, and now I am less busy.* Hooray! Luckily, just because I wasn't posting here or on Instagram doesn't mean we weren't out living life.
I'm going to try to post the photos I have from the past year, but starting with a recent and rather short hike we went on about a month about in Castle Rock State Park. We had tried to go on this hike before, but it was pouring rain. On this day, we only encountered a little fog, which created some nice light and spooky woods.
Here's a look at our adventures. Enjoy!
Rocks line the paths, which means Cole did lots of extra climbing. You can't see it, but Cole is on the other side of this rock falling down. Hehe.
Twisted trees fill the valley as we make our way toward Castle Rock.
I'm always bringing up the rear because I stop to take pictures of the sights, such as these trees covered with little plants.
Just look at all these little plants.
Yep, I'm still back here looking at plants on trees.
Cole climbs up on Castle Rock, of course.
Now we're off to longer paths and sunnier skies.
The bad thing about sun and flowers means lots of buzzing bugs, which I am not a fan of.
The view along the train are pretty nice.
The trail continues along the edge for a while, and then we dive back into the cool cover of the trees.
Thanks, Cole, for carrying out water!
The end. :)
*Oh, and in case you wanted a longer story about why I was so busy ... well, I had a lot of work to do at Houzz and I was starting to pick up more work at Punkpost. In the end, Punkpost won. :) I quit Houzz in March and have been managing content at Punkpost ever since, and I like the change a lot.
