Exciting news! I have photo evidence of Flat Brenna's first adventures. Almost all of the Flat Brennas have made their landings, so get ready for updates on their whereabouts.

The first adventures for Flat Brenna came from two places pretty close together: Phillipsburg and Stockton, Kan. If you are not familiar with those places, check out the blue map dots below.

Today Flat Brenna had the pleasure of hanging out with two friends who work for Teens For Christ Connection in Phillipsburg. You probably have heard me mention the place a time or two on here, and that's because I grew up attending everything TFC and have continued to be a part of the organization through college and beyond, mostly as a designer. On this adventure, I am sure Flat Brenna did some hanging around the TFC office and soaked in some toasty Kansas weather. But I heard the highlight of her afternoon was eating lunch over at Janice and Lavonne's place. Yum, yum, yum! That place was a pretty common spot to find me eating something every week, most desserts, but can you blame me. :)

How did Flat Brenna wind up with these two trouble makers? Well, they are no strangers to me, and she can definitely be trusted them. Flat Brenna might get into some trouble, but ... that's all right. I mean, when I was with them, poor Janice was usually at the other end of prank. Does that mean watch out Janice? I don't know.

In this duo, Abbie is the owner of Flat Brenna. I have known her since way back in middle school. We bunked by each other at camp, and well, the rest is history. I have led small groups with her, laughed until I cried too many time to count on mission trip, and one summer we helped drag each other out of bed early because we were camp interns. No extra sleep for us that summer. These days, Abbie gets less sleep at camp, I am sure, but she's a trooper that always has a friendly smile to greet you. That's why we all love her. And maybe because she's a little silly. :)

Ashley, I have known since high school. Same reason though, good old TFC. I got to be there her first year of camp, helping her learn the ways of pranking Janice. We also spent many high school weekends driving around, doing nothing productive, but having fun. Maybe plastic wrapping a house, but that's productive.) Now, Ashley is also on staff with Abbie and all the other great TFCers. So I am sure Flat Brenna will be seeing a lot of her around.

The other Flat Brenna went to work today at the law office with my mom in Stockton. The best, and maybe scariest, adventure for Flat Brenna so far was when Flat Brenna arrived at my parent's house. I got to witness the event through the phone, and it even scared me a little. I was chatting with my dad about work and dinner, and all of a sudden we hear an eeeeeeekkkkkkkk! I ask my dad what is going on, but he didn't even have to explain. In the background I could hear my mom, "Flat Brenna is here! Flat Brenna is here!" Like I said, probably terrified Flat Brenna. She didn't know where I was sending her in that heart sticker-covered envelope.

Shortly after all that excitement, my parents compared Flat Brenna's size to a baby pig. Yeah, you know you live somewhere a little different when the first object you think of that's about 8 inches long is a baby pig. But you know, it's my house; it's no surprise. So get excited for that soon-to-come photo.

But here is the photo of me with my mom at work. As you can see, she has a very appropriate work calendar, even if her boss thinks it is the wrong color (he's a Wildcat fan...eww...).
