Fog, Friends and Food

Michelle and Samuel visit me in San Francisco.
Visitors are the best, especially when life has been a little crazy and you need a little fun. I got my first taste of company when Michelle and Samuel flew into San Francisco to hang out for a few days before their road trip to Seattle.
While I did all I could to look great for company, San Francisco did not. The fog blanketed the city while they were here, but I think they had fun anyways. Here's a little list of our fun activities:
A few blocks hike from the BART station finds us in Chinatown.
The lanterns are my favorite part of Chinatown.
The San Francisco Pier is pretty even on a foggy day.
Michelle watches in awe as this guy creates spray paint art.
I have no idea how he does this so quickly.
Many coats of paint cover these caps used to resist the paint.
He can paint lots of things, but I think the Gold Gate Bridge is his specialty around here.
Samuel shows off some skateboarding skills at the Exploratorium exhibit along the pier.
I look off the boardwalk and see this lil' yellow boat floating in the water. How fun would it be to ride on that one, I say. Dreams do come true :)
Michelle waits along the windy dock for our boat ride.
Sadly, the fog was covering most of the Golden Gate Bridge during our day in the city.
Captain Michelle steers us back to the dock.
Boat rides make you hungry — hungry for some sourdough bread.
Then, Samuel had his tastebuds set on an Irish coffee. We head down the road to a bar packed with visitors ready to enjoy a drink as well.
The bartender/barista prepares two Irish coffees: sugar cubes + coffee + whiskey + cream.
Drink up!
It's a good thing we were full of fuel because we had to hike up, up, up to the top of Lombard Street.
Just being the best third wheel I know how to be :)
Everyone wants a chance to drive or walk down this cute, curvy street.
And, we found Waldo on the way home.
Thanks, Michelle and Samuel, for stopping by! You are always welcome in our tiny apartment. Oh, and that goes for anyone else as well! I already talked another Kansan into visiting. See you in September, Janel!
Janel the other Kansas
I cannot wait to see your beautiful new home state!
