Fun Times at the 2015 Re:Make Festival

Welcome to the 2015 Re:Make Festival presented by Brit + Co.
Back a few weeks ago in September — Sept. 12 to be exact — Cole and I drove up to San Francisco to attend the 2015 Re:Make Festival presented by Brit + Co. I signed up for my tickets months and months ago because I so wanted to go. And we did! It was basically a big craft fair full of free diy projects and booths and booths of handmade items, such as stationery, bags and jewelry.
This cool sign hangs inside the entry of the festival held at Fort Mason in San Francisco.
We arrive at about noon, and it's abuzz with activity.
VW had a booth with information.
I took a close up photo. :)
I'm not even sure I can pick a favorite part. All the artisan goods were amazing, and included accessories beauty products, clothing, food, home goods, jewelry, tech and kid products, and (my fav) paper goods! I found a bunch of new people to add to my list of stationery makers I already follow like 3 Fish Studios and ilootpaperie. I of course didn't leave without new cards. My collection now includes some postcards from Tigersheep Friends and Beau Ideal Editions. Other business cards I picked up include
- Bethany Eden Watercolor: watercolor art.
- The Duo Studio: metal keychains to wood decor.
- A Handcrafted Home: pillow covers to wall art.
- ILootPaperie: cards, cards, cards.
- A Jar of Pickles: punny, cute paper goods.
- Lady Alamo: totes, bags and more.
- M X M Jewelry: necklaces, earrings and more.
- Miss Jones Baking Co.: Cole-approved organic frosting and cake mixes.
- Post Studio: geometric-pattern housewares.
- Western Editions: letter-press paper goods.
So ... cards and stationery were everywhere. We bought so cool new stuff, such as some stamp cards from Beau Ideal Editions.
Izze gave out free drinks to sip while pursuing diy projects and handmade goods.
Snail mail is the best. Enough said.
We bought these super cute state postcards from Tigersheep Friends, based out of Kansas City, Kansas. Woot, Kansas!
For lunch, we ate at the food trucks at the event. That was probably one of the non-bright spots of the event. There were just too many people, and not enough food service. If Brit + Co was to ask for my feedback, I'd say have more food available. People were ready to buy more and get back to the crafting fun.
The festival was held at Fort Mason in San Francisco.
For lunch, I snagged a delicious ham and cheese crepe. Nom nom nom.
Cole even has a little fun at the festival.
Just a bike chilling by the water.
After we got done eating, we went back inside the festival building for diy time. These included card making with Hallmark, keychains with Sizzix and tote bags with Michael's. They also had booths set up for Made w/ Code and Hershey 3-D printing. So much cool, fun stuff.
Hallmark had a snail mail making center. It was a crazy mess over there, but I eventually got to diy a postcard.
Blastin' off a card to Mom.
That's me, excitedly getting ready to mail my postcard.
Michael's offered a diy tote bag. That's mine hanging up at home. Cole even made one ... but I don't have a photo of his sunshiny bag.
Next, we did a little water-color painting. Cole painted a sweet Golden Gate Bridge.
I hope they have the festival again next time. Anyone is welcome to come along with me :) I'll be there!
And we couldn't leave with out coloring on the giant wall.
Live creatively!
Chrissi
