Hawksbill Peak Hike
Posted by Brenna Malmberg
Sunday took us to the Shenandoah National Park where we hiked the tallest peak in the park — Hawksbill Peak. At 4,051 feet, the climb took us a little more than two hours. We were planning a longer adventure, but the trail signs confused us, leading us on a shorter path. It was still a steep climb with pretty views, so in the end, it all worked out.
After the hike, we took our picture by the sign to remember where we hiked and that we made it.
Most of the way, we walked on a rocky, sun-dappled path.
Cole decided this resembled a dolphin. Meet rock dolphin.
Hondie is still chugging along.
Cole liked to wander off the path in search of other adventures.
Quite the view from the top.

Next weekend, we head toward the coast and see where airplanes flew!
