King Me: Sacramento Kings Take on the Minnesota Timberwolves
Posted by Brenna Malmberg
Welcome to the Golden 1 Credit Union arena, home of the Sacramento Kings! And home of these giant screens.
After living in California for more than a year, we finally made it to a Sacramento Kings game. Not only is the NBA pretty awesome, but they are also my favorite team. Why? All the purple. It was terrific. Everyone wears purple, black and gray. My people!
We picked to watch them play the young Minnesota Timberwolves. They have a bunch of fun cats, and three, count them, three Jayhawks. In total, this matchup feated four former Jayhawks: Cole Aldrich, Ben McLemore, Brandon Rush and Andrew Wiggins. Rock Chalk!
The game didn't disappoint. It was close until the end, with a Kings win. We got to witness the first win in their new downtown arena. We had seen the construction back in February when we visited, so it was fun to see the finished arena.
If we lived closer, we'd probably go to more Kings games and join their crazy fans. :)
Enjoy some photos from this purple-filled win.
We got to the game pretty early, so the seats are mostly empty at this point.
Andrew Wiggins warms up before the game.
These dudes know what's up. Rock Chalk for life.
It's Brandon Rush! Another Jayhawk.
I'm nicknaming him Big Willie, aka Willie Cauley-Stein.
Boogie also warms up, but he's not quite as serious.
It's Cole Aldrich. Jayhawks in the house, even if they aren't on the right team.
Introducing your Sacramento Kings!
The big dudes jump for the ball. Believe it or not, Goofus Koufus got the ball.
All the Jayhawks are in: Aldrich, McLemore, Rush and Wiggins.
Wiggins dribbles around Matt Barnes.
Buckets for Wiggins.
Standing only like Wiggs stands.
Ut oh. Boogie, why are you up in the stands throwing your mouth piece?
Someone is grumpy about fouling out.
The game is close, and intense.
The Kings win!
The home of the Kings, and we saw their first win in the building!

Woot woot! Jayhawks! Glad you enjoyed the game, the players, and of course the purple!
