Malmbergs arrive D.C.
Posted by Brenna Malmberg
After getting off the metro, we see bunches of motorcycles stream past in a parade.
Before Cole's parents and sisters arrived in D.C., we ventured downtown and stopped by the United States Botanic Garden. So many plants! But really, it has everything, including a whole room of just orchids. We had walked by it may times when it was closed, so I am finally glad we got to go inside.

The garden sits right next to the Capitol.
Cole reads the little identification signs.
Cole enjoys the jungle part of the garden.
Lots of flowers and plants greet you in entry.
I like all the pretty flowers.
Check out more pretties from the U.S. Botanic Garden in my album.
After our garden adventure, we walked over to the National Museum of the American Indian. We visited on the Hawaii celebration day. Because of this, I got to make a leaf bracelet.
With the help of Cole and a museum lady, I got to make a leafy bracelet.
You can't mistake the building, it has an interesting look.

Then, Cole's parents and sisters arrived at the Reagan National Airport May for their weeklong vacation in D.C. At this point, they are still spry and ready to see the sights. We started off the trip with a visit to the Capitol. As luck would have it, there was a special Memorial Day concert that night. So we got to enjoy stories, music and the downtown sights.
Look no hands! Cole and Maggie ride without using the poles or rails.

There was lots of this going on. Don't ask. No one really knows what is happening here.
Kady glows as we walk to the concert.
Cole's parents, Michele and Bud, at the Capitol.
So many people came to the concert.
Near the end, a solo trumpet played Taps from the behind the crowd.
Nice Memorial Day eve in D.C.
Look for more photos to come from our Memorial Day adventures. Yeah, I know I am a little behind on getting these up. But I promise, they will come!

I have no clue what I'm doing! I do look pretty silly though :)
