More news to be told in the Lincoln area. I have about a month long reporting job with Voice News out of Hickman, Neb. In the near future, I will have the published stories about some ladies who quilt in Hallam, Neb., and some photos from the Legion lunch in Hallam, Neb., too.
Was it crazy breaking news? No. Was it fun to get out and write and take photos again? Yes.
So be on the watch for more posts from Voice News. . . .

Luck hasn't been on my side when it comes to finding a full-time journalism job. I am still looking, but for now, I will just have do a bunch of part-time jobs.
Today, I added another job to my list: coaching. I will be coaching at Solid Rock Gymnastics. Back in my gymnastics years, I competed there every spring. It was always the meet with poodle skirts and stain glass window trophies. Now, I am coaching there. I will get to coach a little of everything, from preschool to intermediate levels. . . .

Last time you read about our adventures to Florida, I was sun burnt. I am happy to report I am now a nice tan color instead. More has happened in the last two weeks than my skin changing colors though.
National PBL competition ended with a big awards ceremony where Cole got a third in his competition, and a fifth with Matt and Jay. Woo! Nebraska ended up winning quite a few awards by the end of the night. Go Huskers, I suppose.
After Orlando, Cole and I started our honeymoon out in Tampa and stayed on Treasure Island. Our adventures here consisted of walking the shelly beach and playing a round of mini gold, which I lost. Sadly, a lot of our beach adventures were foiled by rain and lightning. . . .

My photos have been published! My first published work since graduating from the University of Kansas. It's not the front page or worth millions, but it is a step in the right direction: experience.
I was assigned to go cover a run/walk and barbeque that raised money for two families in Lincoln. To learn more about the two boys, Tyson and Derek, and to see the photos I took of the event, visit the Community Matters page of the Lincoln Journal Star. . . .
