Many years ago, my mom was born. How old is she you ask? 46 to be exact. I am sure you wanted me to share that with the world, but HAPPY BIRTHDAY, Mom, regardless.
In case you were wondering, she wasn't the only thing that happened on this earth on this day in history. In 1847, 45 of the original 89 members of the Donner party were rescued in California. Alcoholic beverages of all varieties were first prohibited in Kansas in 1881. Thomas Edison got a patent for the phonograph in 1878. And just two year ago, Tiger Woods admitted to infidelity and was off to get therapy for it. . . .

Test your movie knowledge by watching the above video. Ho many can you guess?
Entranced by the hypnotic progression through the alphabet, I found it hard to recognize each movie. I hit on a few, such as the Lord of the Rings, Inception and Jurassic Park, but definitely didn't get them all. . . .

Finally, I found my photos printed in the Lincoln Journal Star. I have been taking photos for them for more than six months, but I never know when they will be published. Luckily, a co-worker picked up the paper, read my name and emailed me.
Now I know they don't just end up on the Internet for use, even though that is great, too. You can check out all of the photo I took for the Lied Center's Crystal Gala Black and White Ball on the Community Matters page. . . .

But if you aren't searching for words, you won't find them. Here are three easy steps to take if you have a zeal for words and want to apply them to your scripture reading time.
Step one: Have a dictionary or Merriam-Webster a click away. . . .

Fine grit slips between the gaps in my toes. I can catch the occasional glimpse of sand as the sun glimmers on the small crests of each wave. So much water, as far as I can see, laps again the gradual shoreline of Rimini, Italy.
Less than three years ago on my 21st birthday, the perfect beach graced my feet.
The next day, while it wasn't my birthday, gave way to the same beach by daylight. Lucky me, I traveled to the beach just before the masses invaded the coasts of Italy, taking up plots of beech for their sunbathing, vacation needs. . . .
