A little wind blown during our second anniversary celebration.
On June 11, we celebrated our two-year anniversary. Yay! To celebrate, we took Monday off from work and headed over to Ocean City, Md. For those of you looking to see where that is, here is a map. (This should help show you where it is, Mom.)

Cole points out our Memorial Day morning destination — the Smithsonian National Zoological Park.
Our day off for Memorial Day coincided with the Malmberg family vacation, so we started the day off at the Smithsonian National Zoological Park (or the zoo, for short). This place has everything, including giant pandas. Mei Xiang and Tian Tian, the two pandas, bring flocks of visitors. I had never seen the rare, endangered animal until that day. We watched them munch and strip down bamboo. When you consider they spend 10 to 16 hours eating and foraging, consuming 20 to 40 pounds a day to sustain themselves, it was no surprise that is what we witnessed them doing. They also look pretty cute while doing it. . . .

Georgetown Cupcakes in Washington, D.C.
During the Malmberg's visit to D.C., we indulged Maggie's request to find Georgetown Cupcake. You might have heard of it from the show, "DC Cupcakes," on TLC. Thanks to my friend Janel all the way over in Lawrence, Kan., we found the corner store, and the line streaming out the door. . . .

After getting off the metro, we see bunches of motorcycles stream past in a parade.
Before Cole's parents and sisters arrived in D.C., we ventured downtown and stopped by the United States Botanic Garden. So many plants! But really, it has everything, including a whole room of just orchids. We had walked by it may times when it was closed, so I am finally glad we got to go inside. . . .

Take a minute and look at all the electronic devices around you as you read this blog on your computer or tablet. You probably have a keyboard, mouse, speakers, a printer and probably a charger or two lying around. If you count up to 24, you have just as many electronics as the average household. (To reach that number, you might need to look around the whole house, not just by your computer.) Now think if you amped up the energy savings by owning computer accessories with green technology. . . .
