Notebook practice.
Lately, I've been filling up the pages of my Christmas notebook with calligraphy practice. The rows guide my lines, and my bible supplies plenty of copy-worthy words. I take my lunch break as an opportunity to practice, and I end up with work like the above.
That's about it. That's the calligraphy update. More shall be coming. I promise. . . .

As you might have read, KU's Office of Admissions asked me to attend a college fair at Albemarle High School on April 9. I brushed up on my facts and recalled memories — that part was easy. . . .

Before this week's trivia, I congratulate Hannah and Max on their calligraphy trivia tie. Hi, Hannah! Thanks for playing along. It really is pretty no matter your skill level.
This week I test your KU knowledge and mine as I prepare to represent KU at a local high school college fair. Along with another alum, I'll be passing out booklets, answering questions and sharing my KU experience. I had a super time there, and I know they would, too. I'll let you know how that adventure tomorrow night goes. . . .

All the Jacques & Gilles letters.
Every calligrapher has to start somewhere. Unfortunately, my starts have had a few bumps. As I've mentioned, calligraphy keeps throwing curve balls at me or, maybe more fitting, ink splatters. My ink bleeds. My paper rips. My markers mark on what's below. And, my holder doesn't hold. You see the pattern. But ... the cheating calligraphy method hasn't failed me. Probably because it only involved paper and pencil — a pair that always works. . . .
