Yosemite National Park here we come.
Yosemite Falls bursts from the top thanks for spring mountain snowmelt.
To celebrate our long weekend, we drove over to Yosemite National Park to hike the sights. Cole mapped out a few waterfall options because spring snowmelt from the mountains makes the falls gush. We decided to be adventurous and hike to the top of Yosemite Falls — that's 7.2 miles round trip, gaining 2,700 feet of elevation. . . .

On Friday night while it sprinkled, we loaded up Hondie for the long haul.
Phew! Lot o' miles of highway under the wheels of Hondie. Along the way from Charlottesville, Virginia, to our California summer home, I documented the journey with my camera and camera phone via Twitter and Instagram. #HondiesLastHurrah documented the social media journey. Bambi quote for Grammie.
Phew. I am finally all set up in California, so I can start posting fun blogs again. But before I get to all the photos I snapped during our cross county trip, I say thanks to Mom. I did not forget about them! They had cards in the mail so I couldn't spoil any surprise before we left Virginia. Plus, on Mother's Day we hiked into the Grand Canyon, which left seeking a bed for sleep instead of a keyboard for blogging. . . .
