Overblessified Thursday: Jayhawk Love
Posted by Brenna Malmberg
Creative cheering section.
Each fan roots for their team in their own way: a lucky shirt, free throw ritual, ceremonial meal, crossed fingers and toes. Me, I cheer at the screen and most recently, draw. By combining my new love of calligraphy and my irrational love of the Jayhawks, I created these two basketball pieces. Thankfully, both of these loves continue regardless of, oh you know, don't make me say it. Let's move on.
All this additional Jayhawk enthusiasm does have a use that doesn't involve me shouting, "defense." In a few weeks, I get to recruit for KU's Office of Admissions. I'll be heading up a KU booth at a high school. Who knew that Charlottesville students would get the chance to attend such a great university. Plus, I might even get to meet some other grads that live here — small, Jayhawk world.
I'm just feeling pretty overblessified by my university lately. The place has stuck with me, and I am glad for that. Until I have more recruiting updates (that's probably an overstatement, but you never know how much influence I'll have), you can enjoy my two Jayhawk calligraphy pieces.
Rock Chalk!
This month is just madness.
