Overblessified Thursday: The Hobbit at Midnight
Posted by Brenna Malmberg
Tonight at midnight, I will have on big, goofy black glass propped over my new purple frames watching The Hobbit (in 3-D) with my law-school-studied-out husband. It's his halfway-through-finals break before he starts hardcore studying again.
Am I as excited as him? No. We read it in high school, but my memory fuzzes out somewhere right after Bilbo gets the ring. I remember creepy Gollum and lots of dwarfs, but that's where my knowledge ends.
Creepy, right?
Cole on the other hand is SO EXCITED. He loves these books and doesn't even care that we are staying up far into the night to see it.
So to prepare myself, I took a Which Middle-Earth Character Are You? quiz. I advise you to do the same and post the result in the comments below.
Me, I was an elf. I was really excited by that result. The elves are my favorite by far. They glow, write music, speak Elvish languages, ooze grace, display wisdom and do magical things, plus they glow (might have already mentioned that). If you answer that you have a beard, I feel like you might drift toward the dwarf section, just a heads up!
Here is what the quiz said about me:
You have an affinity for nature and the arts, like an elf. Your tastes are refined; you're more elegant than most, and you're discriminating about who you affiliate with. Some say you're stuck up, but you're not ashamed that you take such good care of yourself and your family – who wouldn't want to flaunt all this?
I see the resemblance :)
Oh, and I will let you know what I think of the flick.

Wizard in the house! Fun fact, Gandalf bore one of the three elven rings of power, so he was kind of an elf. It is true that Legolas was one smooth elf though.
