Yosemite National Park here we come.

Yosemite Falls bursts from the top thanks for spring mountain snowmelt.

To celebrate our long weekend, we drove over to Yosemite National Park to hike the sights. Cole mapped out a few waterfall options because spring snowmelt from the mountains makes the falls gush. We decided to be adventurous and hike to the top of Yosemite Falls — that's 7.2 miles round trip, gaining 2,700 feet of elevation. . . .

On Friday night while it sprinkled, we loaded up Hondie for the long haul.

Phew! Lot o' miles of highway under the wheels of Hondie. Along the way from Charlottesville, Virginia, to our California summer home, I documented the journey with my camera and camera phone via Twitter and Instagram. #HondiesLastHurrah documented the social media journey. Phew. I am finally all set up in California, so I can start posting fun blogs again. But before I get to all the photos I snapped during our cross county trip, I say thanks to Mom. I did not forget about them! They had cards in the mail so I couldn't spoil any surprise before we left Virginia. Plus, on Mother's Day we hiked into the Grand Canyon, which left seeking a bed for sleep instead of a keyboard for blogging. . . .

Our Stamp Out Hunger bag is ready for pickup.

The other day, I swung the mailbox door open and found a plastic grocery bag draped over the usual card from Grammie and junk mail. Mostly confused, I pulled it out and saw the familiar Stamp Out Hunger Family Circus cartoon. Familiar because the National Association of Letter Carriers and Feeding America joined forces this time last year to feed people in Charlottesville and across the nation. My Twitter notifications are leaving me a little starstruck these days. Today, I watched a video about Nastia Liukin, tweeted about it like I do about things gymnastics, and then a few hours later, I have a notification saying Nastia favorited your tweet. MY TWEET. My favorite gymnast of all time retweeted my tweet. The 2012, five-time Olympic medalist had time to tap the little star on my tweet. I ran right out to tell Cole the awesome news. . . .
