Cole finally got to visit the aviation museum he drives by every day when he goes to work.

We haven't really done anything too exciting as of late. That's mostly because of work, either too much or too draining or both. But, we did break away for a weekend of fun at our local plane museum. Let's just say, I can wash my hands for days after all of this soap making.

My learning process was by no means squeaky clean. To be honest, it was dirty and painful (think splattering hot soap all over your hand!). I learned from my first scalding to respect the soap. I stirred calmly and poured carefully. With those tenets in mind, I filled molds to create tiny embeds that I could let stand alone or drown in more soap to make a bar. . . .

Before the fun starts in Sacramento, we stopped in Fairfield, California, at the Jelly Belly factory.

Our Valentine's Day weekend started on a sweet note: a tour of the Jelly Belly factory. It was on our way to Sacramento, so we decided why not stop. Once there, we donned silly hats and walked around the factory. We didn't get to see the jelly beans in motion because employees have the weekend off, but we did get to see how they make them and stacks on stacks on stacks of jelly beans awaiting their next step in the process. . . .

College gymnastics has officially started! And Cole and I got to see some Bay Area teams compete for the first time this season at the 2016 NorCal Classic in San Jose at San Jose State University. This meet also gave me a chance to try out my new camera that I got for Christmas. I definitely need some more practice, but it was fun to use a camera with such a fast shutter. (Cole likened it to when we watch elites compete, especially on beam, and you can hear the shutter rapidly firing in the background the whole time.) . . .

How often do the Nebraska Cornhuskers play in California? Not often enough for my Husker husband. So, when we heard that they were going to play in the Foster Farms Bowl at Levi's Stadium (where the 49ers play) in Santa Clara, which is just down the Peninsula from us. . . .
