Photo Friday: Christmas Comes But Once a Year

Presents await opening.
Christmas keeps on going. It started the Thursday Cole finished finals, and it doesn't end until we leave Grammie's Jan. 5. Quite a long Christmas, but that makes it all the more fun. Before jetting back to Nebraska/Kansas, I made sure our place was filled with the Christmas spirit. We had a tree topped with Patrick the star, a white nativity set, Wall Street Journal crafted light bulbs, tiny stockings, a wreath and Game of Thrones snowflakes mixed in with regular ones.
Christmas decorations cover the living room.
Most festive door in the complex goes to us.
For the wreath, I just tie many, many yarn pom-poms around the circle. Then topped it off with a few of our older, smaller tree ornaments. It's still hanging on the door back in Charlottesville thanks to its evergreenness.
My yarn pom-pom wreath is definitely evergreen.
After our little apartment Christmas, Cole and I headed back to Omaha via planes for family Christmas there. Most memorably, we walked away from the gift exchange with the same stinky, vegetable candle Cole drew last year. Lucky us. Luck whoever ends up with it again next year. :P
Cole winds up with this stink vegetable candle for the second year in a row.
Our pool skills made an appearance when we were with other family. Not surprisingly, I was pretty awful. Thankfully, I just ended up taking pictures. Kady on the other hand became quite the skilled player under the tutelage of her brother.
Cole, Maggie and Kady rack 'em up.
Pro.
Now back in Pburg, its not a true visit without seeing the animal farm happening at my parents' house. I finally got to meet Uno the goat, Herman the peacock, Small and Large the pigs, and Coal the mini horse. The sun was quickly setting, so pictures were limited, but Coal stood nice and still and cooperated.
Meet Coal, my parent's mini horse.
Cute and fuzzy.
But like I said Christmas isn't over. The fun continues into 2014 for my family. This is just what it has looked like so far. Oh, and also me chilling at the kitchen table working. There's that. But we don't need any photos of how much fun that is.
