Photo Friday: Ready to Stamp Out Hunger

Stamp Out Hunger bag

Our Stamp Out Hunger bag is ready for pickup.

The other day, I swung the mailbox door open and found a plastic grocery bag draped over the usual card from Grammie and junk mail. Mostly confused, I pulled it out and saw the familiar Stamp Out Hunger Family Circus cartoon. Familiar because the National Association of Letter Carriers and Feeding America joined forces this time last year to feed people in Charlottesville and across the nation. (You might have read it on my blog.)

Your mail carriers may not have given you a bag, but that doesn't mean you can participate in the food drive. Round up or buy nonperishables and place them by the mailbox. It's as easy as that. This food drive comes at an opportune time for roaming students like us. Last year, it was move out day. This year is move out day, too. The smart post office people probably had that in mind when picking a date. Now, instead of tossing those extra food items that don't fit in the car, someone can eat and enjoy.

This video gives a little more info, but honestly, that's really all there is to it. Thanks for helping Stamp Out Hunger!
