Before I gush about how much I love working for Punkpost, I have to share the good news: Punkpost is available on Android! All you non-iPhone-loving people out there can now send sweet, confetti-filled cards. So, grab your phone and download the app now (if you have an iPhone, click here). Bonus: your first card is free. Yes, you can send a card fo' free right now. That includes the card, the envelope, all the writing and the stamp. If you are feeling cray, cray, add a confetti bomb (see photo above). So, what are you waiting for?!?!

If you were waiting because you don't know anything about the awesomeness that is Punkpost, check out this short video. Then, you'll be downloading and sending your first card fo' sho.

Short and sweet, wasn't it? Now more on that mention of me working for Punkpost. I'm officially a scriptist, which has to be my favorite job title. I write people's messages and address their cards. And if you follow me on Instagram, you know I love snail mail and practicing lettering. So when I read that they were hiring writers, I immediately emailed them. And wham, bam, boom, they hired me! ... Actually, that's not exactly how it happened. We'd had a yearlong interaction before I officially started working for Punkpost. Our connection began when I interviewed Lex for an invite story while I worked at the local paper. I obviously instantly fell in love with this company. From there on out, we followed each other on Instagram and exchanged lots of double taps and heart emojis. Thennnnn, I applied and they liked me enough to hire me. :)

Now nearly every evening, I come home from work. I take a break for all the writing and the researching and the fast pace of Silicon Valley and physically write on pretty letterpress paper. I write love notes and cheerful birthday wishes. I make bubble letters and practice faux calligraphy. I attempt cute emojis and easily draw lots of hearts. I buy lots of stamps in all themes and colors. It's a snail mail dream come true.

And then every morning, I walk a few extra blocks on my way to work and drop letters into the mail box. (I'm pretty sure the post office employees are confused about why I pop in every morning). From there, the cards travel across the country — and sometimes the ocean — to the lucky recipients. And I get to be a little piece of that joy. It's the best.

Oh, that's the whole story. It's a pretty, simple job. And I love it. Go send a card right now. I might even be your scriptist.

Hi, Mom! Go download the app now.

Hi Brenna! :) This was such a great post. I'm considering working for Punkpost and I was curious how much they pay-- I couldn't seem to find it anywhere online.
