Ravens, KC Pumpkins
Posted by Brenna Malmberg
I celebrate Halloween with a Ravens pumpkin.
I know, I'm slightly late on the Halloween post, but ... carving happened a little late, so that will be my excuse.
It as a sporty Halloween here. I went with the Ravens and Cole repped KC baseball. My inspiration came from a contest the Ravens were holding: #RavensPumpkin Contest. Sadly, my efforts fell a little flat, and I don't think I will win. I broke our little caring knife if that is any indication. I still liked the final outcome, but it wasn't my desired look. I planned to carve "Ravens" in the back to shine on the all, but my pumpkin was too thick and speckled. Instead, I added a splash of team calligraphy.
Carving on the back didn't go as planned, so I did some fan calligraphy on the back.
Play like a Raven :)
By candle light, the design kind of shines through.
I carved mine Tuesday night, which meant it looked like a dead bird by Halloween. Thankfully, Cole's baseball image carved on Halloween looked great. (He's had lots to do, so this was his Friday night break.)

Cole also uses a favorite sports team as inspiration.

As you probably know, we carve pumpkins each year. I'm really a fan of how this year's compare, but I'll let you be the judge. P.S. Cole's from 2011 is intense. I am not sure how he did that.
- 2013: Owl and NBA basketball.
- 2012: Bikini Bottom Nash Potatoes and UVA.
- 2011: Gymnast and Darth Maul.
That's a pretty impressive KC pumpkin.
