Snow Freak-out

Posted by Brenna Malmberg

Well, I decided I should break this blog drought, and what better way than a little Virginia precipitation.

Less than a week after being back home, Virginia decided it would welcome us with cold and snow. Maybe we didn't get enough last month back in Nebraska, but I disagreed. Anyways, here is what Thursday morning looked like here from our apartment.

Thursday morning Cole left for class, and we were both surprised by this white stuff.

Enough snow fell to cover Hondie but barely more than that.

The small amount of snow didn't stop the apartment complex from using its hefty snow plow.

All right, you got me. It was pretty mild around here. Mild enough for golf cart travel.

So basically, people in Virginia and I are alike: Snow causes us to have a freak-out. Finally, my people. That skiff of snow caused schools to close and the chiropractor to call to make sure I was still coming in to my appointment. I made it there fine that afternoon, but half their clientele had already canceled. Why did I make it there fine, well these pictures from noon probably explain the weather/road conditions.

I can see Hondie again!

Yes, the road has returned to sight.

I suppose I can venture out in the clear roads and sunny skies.

But then Virginia decided to do this the next afternoon. Come on, what is this?

Yeah, that is more snow. But it was only a little bit again. It's all gone today.

While I don't like winter or snow one bit, if this is as bad as it gets, I'll probably survive. But is it summer yet?!
