My Twitter notifications are leaving me a little starstruck these days. Today, I watched a video about Nastia Liukin, tweeted about it like I do about things gymnastics, and then a few hours later, I have a notification saying Nastia favorited your tweet. MY TWEET. My favorite gymnast of all time retweeted my tweet. The 2012, five-time Olympic medalist had time to tap the little star on my tweet. I ran right out to tell Cole the awesome news.
P.S. That video tells her life story if you don't already know it.
Nastia Liukin favorited one of my tweets!
Just a few weeks back, John Orozco retweeted my characters in support of him and Elizabeth Price's United States Olympic Committee April Athlete of the Month. They both need up in third, but they were my pick.
Vote for @JohnOrozco and @elizabeth_ebee in USOC's April Athlete of the Month. #winning #pullingahead #gymnastics

John Orozco helped spread the word to vote for him and Elizabeth Price.
Then, right after the American Cup, I gave a shout out to all the winners, and Brenna Downell — you know the one that shares my name — favorited my tweet. She started all this starstruckness.
Congrats @brennadowell, @elizabeth_ebee, @JohnOrozco and @SamuelMikulak on your #ATTAC2014 performances! #gymnastics #USA #winning

Brenna Dowell favorites a congratulatory tweet.
Fine, these people don't have millions of followers and the average person has no idea who they are, but to the gymnastics community, these people are rockstars. It's awesome to know they still have time, between appearances and practices, to browse their feed and give a shout out. This gymnastics fan loves it.
I encourage you to reach out to people you admire on Twitter. You never know who will appreciate your tweet and appreciate you.
