Zombie Car Wash

Posted by Brenna Malmberg

Back from the dead to wash cars, zombies took the streets hailing in cars and shining them up for owners willing to let the walking dead near their vehicle. Luckily, these zombies wash cars for a good cause. The Fear Crafters club members had their first car wash to raise money for their club on June 23-24, 2012.

Check out the Zombie Car Wash from my lens.

During the weekend, around 15 club members washed cars and raised $262 to put toward their larger event, a Costume Ball on Oct. 13. That event raises money for the Capital Humane Society of Lincoln, Neb.

But even though the club celebrates Halloween, they don't limit it to October. Throughout the year, the club of 60 members has a zombie walk, bowl-a-thon and garage sales. Brad and Tracy Moul started the club three years ago, but enjoyed the holiday for years before. Brad was even born on Halloween. Since the club started, it continues to grow and attract new members.

Members like David Schwinck and Susan Williams just joined the club last year, but have already started learning how to make new props and have plans for this Halloween. Ed Bales joined three years ago after taking a class at Southeast Community College taught by Brad Moul. He teaches people how to make different types of props in the club. From there people can use them at their own haunted house and many take an interest in the Fear Crafters club. His family even participated in the zombie walk in downtown Lincoln last year.

These are just a few of the stories that came from Fear Crafters. And, you can be a part of the haunted fun as well. Enthusiasts of all levels can join the club by going to www.fearcrafters.com and signing up for emails.

Interesting article and one which sulhod be more widely known about in my view. Your level of detail is good and the clarity of writing is excellent. I have bookmarked it for you so that others will be able to see what you have to say.
