2013 Central Virginia Celtic Festival and Highland Games

Welcome to the Central Virginia Celtic Festival and Highland Games — obviously, bagpipes are a must.	My favorite part of the event was the Highland Games, which included the sheaf toss. In this event, the contestant throws a 16.5 pound bag off a pitchfork up to 26 feet (maybe more if you are often) over a bar.	Before they threw it, they readied the bag with their pitchfork.
A might yell comes out as he watches his bag go over the bar.	The caber toss looked intense. They had to pick up this pole, balance it, and then hurl it end over end.	After it flips, its landing position falls on a "clock face" giving the person their final soon. You want a 12 o'clock.
Looks easy eight? No, they are throwing 56 pounds over that bar.	Hammer toss equals intense faces.	I found my purple clan.
This lady teaches dogs to herd sheep.	Funny looking sheep.	Need a kilt? So many choices.
Sword fighting was a let down. It was more of a children's show, but we heard a few sword clinks, so I guess.	Celtic lady watches sword fighting. She doesn't look super amused either.	Rugby ensues.
I know basically zero about this sport, and I may have just got more confused. I do know that it looks painful.	Harp players strum a soft tune, trying to play over bagpipes.	SAFETY HAZARD! One vendor offered ax throwing. Little kids throwing axes with little instruction. Watch out.
