On our first cruise stop in the Bahamas, we snorkel off the coast of Freeport.
I'm a huge fan of sun and sea. This is just me enjoying our catamaran ride out to the snorkeling site.
The water in the Bahamas is so blue and clear, which made for great snorkeling.
On day two in the Bahamas, we found a little piece of sand in Nassau.
Cole and I soak up the sun, which led to some peeling.
Cole swims in the pretty warm, salty water.
Thanks, Carnival, for the beach towels. It's great to not have to pack up sandy towels.
After the beach, we visited Disney World! As soon as you enter the park, the castle and all its magic comes into view.
First ride: the tea cups. Cole whirls us around as I snap photos.
Every ride and restaurant oozes Disney, including this Pooh honey pot ride. Mom, you'll have to visit and ride this one.
Before we embarked on our Belle adventure, we had no idea that is was going to be a little kid story show. But, it was really cute, so we were glad we went. Here, Belle questioning looks at the horse.
The night ended with a themed-firework show. It's Disney World; it's magical.
On the drive back to Virginia, we stopped in Charleston, South Carolina, to take in some history, specially Fort Sumter.
We rode a boat out to the island for our hour-long visit.
Cole reads all the signs around the fort, well, at least as many as he can before we have to board again.
From inside the fort, I looked out the cannon holes to see the water.
This beautiful bridge connects Charleston with Mount Pleasant, and should span the water for another 100 years.
Just outside of Charleston, Drayton Hall stands tall in the almost-spring sunshine.
John Drayton moved into this plantation house in the 1750s. The plantation operated up until the Civil War, growing rice as their main crop.
How beautiful is this house in the pond's reflection. This tour was the perfect way to end spring break.
