A game to educate children about global warming isn't new, but a board game made of ice is. GEOlino, a German children's science magazine, created MELTDOWN, a game where you have to save the polar bears before the ice from you freezer melts. The company's video explains it well.

How fun and visual is this game. I give GEOlino five out of five icebergs for their game. Granted, I have not played it, but it's a cooperative game with cute polar bears and you are trying to save the planet, or at least educate yourself on the subject. All good things. The downside I see is the fact that you have to freeze the blue mold beforehand. You can't just play it on a whim.

Back as a Mother Earth News intern, I came across and tested another global warming game for children. Actually Cole and Jay got to play the card game, Cool It!, with me. Those lucky global-warming learners. Maybe we will get to try MELTDOWN next.

Honestly, it wouldn't even hurt adults to play science games like these. Usually, child activities present the same issues, just in a simper manner, and with a huge subject like global warming, that would be nice. If you know of any other such games, let me know!
